—President Obama, taking responsibility for attacks in Benghazi that killed US Ambassador Chris Stevens. Mitt Romney attacked him quite staunchly over the incident, and the lack of additional requested security at the embassy. Over the past couple days, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had accepted responsibility for it, but tonight Obama said the buck stopped at him. Romney’s reaction immediately afterwards seemed unsteady – it seems plausible that he didn’t expect this answer, and it threw him pretty badly off his planned course.
